How to Be Flawless and Own It!

Bride of Christ. Beautiful in every way.Last week hubby and I saw the movie Acrimony. It’s an insightful film by Tyler Perry reminding us that becoming one flesh in marriage is as much about perspective, as purpose.

Selah.

But during the previews I peeped the premise of an upcoming release, I Feel Pretty, starring Amy Schumer. And I loved it!

A woman feeling defeated for being judged by her looks until she hits her head and wakes up to see herself as beautiful, though she looks exactly the same.

But the mere change in thinking gives her a self-confidence she’s never known or could ever own.

She’s Got It Going on, and You Can’t Tell Her Any Different

At the time of my writing this, the movie isn’t out yet, so I don’t know how it ends. But I do know what you believe about yourself has everything to do with your story’s ending.

Now I’m not talking about something surface, like beauty or size, though embracing the package you come in matters.

I’m referring to believing what’s true—whether you see evidence of it yet or not. And then living from that truth.

In Song of Songs, King Solomon says to his bride, “You are altogether beautiful, my darling; I find no flaw in you (Songs 4:7, NIV).” He said a whole lot in that sentence. And I dare you to read it again slowly.

But you know the crazy part? Earlier she tells him how unattractive she is because she’s been so busy working, she let herself go (but that’s a topic for a whole other day).

She basically makes the case for him to dump her! But he wouldn’t hear of it. He came right back affirming how beautiful she is, even the most beautiful among women.

That man knew how to write a love song, didn’t he? But the best part is, the groom in this song is a picture of Christ, with the bride representing the Church. And as a believer, Jesus says to you, His bride…

Bride of Christ. Beautiful in every way.      Bride of Christ. Beautiful in every way.

You Are Flawless!

No, He’s not blind. He’s checked you out from every angle. And He saw what really made you ugly: your selfish thoughts, attitudes and behavior He willingly carried while nailed to the cross. He took your ugly and gave you His beauty.

I know. Mind blown. But it’s the truth!

Is it an instantaneous transformation? Nope. But manifestation comes after revelation. So, I’m telling you He says you’re as flawless as Amy Schumer’s character thinks she is—because you actually are!

Jesus is your beautification.

Now Believe It. Own It. Walk in It.

Because you are, what you believe about yourself.

Selah.

“For as he [she] thinks in his [her] heart, so is he [she].” — bracketed text mine

Chew on this powerful portion of Proverbs 23:7 this week and jot down what you discover. It’ll change your life.

"I see myself the way God sees me—through Christ-colored glasses." And I'm flawless!“I see myself the way God sees me—through Christ-colored glasses.” And I’m flawless!

The Flawless Tee. Get yours.
